There really isn’t much to say except thank you to the amazing couples who trusted my vision to truthfully and beautifully document their most intimate wedding celebrations. Indeed, you are the ones who truly made 2018 an incredible year.
I am humbled to get to do what I do, and 2018 was no different. This year I was lucky to photograph weddings all across Sydney and country NSW, as well as in the Southern Highlands, Kangaroo Valley and Hunter regions at some of my all time favourite venues. Now if you didn’t know, for several years, my wife Britt was regularly my second shooter – but alas, being a high-in-demand, busy dentist has meant that for almost the last two years, she hasn’t been able to shoot with me as she’s in the clinic most weekends. I’ve sorely missed having Britt shoot with me – in fact, our first “unofficial” date almost 8 years ago was her tagging along to a wedding as my assistant! In 2018, Britt & I were fortunate to photograph not one, but two weddings together, and it was absolutely perfect. Fond memories flooded back as we shot gorgeous weddings in Santorini, and right at our doorstep at the Sydney Opera House, side by side. I really hope that one day we’ll be able to shoot together again more often. Britt is my rock, and without her, the achievements of 2018 would not have been possible.
In 2019, Jonathan David Photography officially celebrates ten years of business. Yep, that’s ten years of weddings, engagements, portraits and everything in-between. It is completely overwhelming to realise that for ten years, couples and individuals alike have trusted my craft to honestly photograph their most cherished moments and milestones. The magnitude of this responsibility is not lost on me. So as I enter my eleventh year, I extend a deep and heartfelt thank you to all those who I have worked with over the last ten years. This business is built on the trust, love and goodwill of the incredible people who open their arms and hearts to welcome me into their lives, so thank you. This is the perfect way to segue into some photos from those beautiful people who made 2018 what it was – it was so hard to compile this, so I really hope you enjoy it.
Lots of love,
Jono x
