One week before the wedding, half of Chris & Mariana’s bridal party flew into Sydney from Argentina. These were some of her closest childhood friends. You know, the kind where your parents were friends, your grandparents were friends, your great-grandparents were friends and you’ve lived across the street from each other in suburban Buenos Aires for decades. So, not surprisingly, today was special.
Mariana apologised for the “spanglish” (not quite Spanish, not quite English) spoken throughout the day, but that didn’t matter. The emotion & excitement transcended all of that, and I didn’t need to understand what they were saying to understand how they felt. I think it was when Mariana’s uncle broke down after the ceremony at the sight & thought of his niece being all grown-up, that it suddenly hit me. This is what the wedding day is all about – family, friends & the insane connection we share with our dearest loved ones, no matter the distance between us. Heck, I’ll admit it, I shed a few tears that day. Get ready for some epic Belgenny Farm Vintage Wedding Photography.
