Feast your eyes on Angela & Shayne’s mind-blowing Fairground Follies wedding photography… words will never do justice to the gorgeousness of their day. If you’ve never heard of it, Fairground Follies is a hidden Sydney gem; a warehouse jam-packed with antique and vintage fairground themed rides and musical items smack bang in the middle of Alexandria. It made complete sense that they would enlist the super-human talents of wedding stylist extraordinaire Sheree from She Designs Events to bring their dream of a classy vintage celebration to fruition.
From the outside, the warehouse doesn’t really look like much… you could easily mistaken it for an abandoned old building with not much inside. That was definitely the talk of the guests as they arrived and started to gather outside the rusty roller shutter door. When everyone had gathered, it was time for the roller shutter door to be lifted – you can imagine the look of shock, surprise and awe as soon as guests readjusted their eyes to focus on the magical display before them. It really was a breathtaking reveal. I’ve always known that photographing weddings at Fairground Follies is no easy feat, well, you know, because it’s inside a dark warehouse and all…. but She Designs made it an absolute dream with an array of stunning vintage chandeliers layered overhead creating the perfect ambience to the celebrations.
Witnessing the close union that Angela and Shayne shared was incredibly humbling. This was no more evident than during Shayne’s truly heartfelt speech that didn’t leave a single dry eye in the room (me included!). I pinch myself everyday and still can’t believe how lucky I am to get to document such intimate, raw and honest moments. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
