It was a glorious day. Bright blue skies and not a cloud in sight – the perfect summer weather for Aaron & Jess’s beachside wedding.
Their wedding would have to be one of the most moving ceremonies I have attended to date – so much emotion and so incredibly heart warming. Aaron & Jess really do mean the world to each other, and as you scroll through their wedding story below, you’ll understand why.
Shortly after being announced man and wife, we travelled up the gorgeous headlands of Long Reef Golf Course to capture some photos overlooking the amazing east coast. Along with the bride & groom and their bridal party, we drove up the hillside in awesome golf cart style. About half way up, dark and ominous looking clouds began to form, and in a matter of minutes we found ourselves stuck in torrential rain – out in the middle of a golf course. With absolutely no cover, and no where to hide. It was bucketing down and we were all getting drenched. Soaked through to our bones. What were we to do?! How devastating, right? Wrong. Aaron & Jess were determined not to let rain get in the way of their joy. They insisted to make the most of it and we continued to shoot as the rain poured from the heavens. Nothing could wipe the smile from Jess’s face. She was beaming with happiness (and we even had a bucket load of fun!).
And that is what it is all about. Love. Happiness. Joy.
It was a beautiful testament to the fact that no matter what life (or the weather) throws at you, face it with a smile and make the most of it. If you do, nothing will get you down. Not even rain on your wedding day.
Jess wore a dress stitched together by her own mother and the bouquets were crafted by her cousin. Her sister Lucy made the wedding cake – the highlight being their real life modelled cake toppers that included their two pet dogs and cat. All in all, Aaron & Jess’s wedding was gorgeous display of DIY craftsmanship and love, where family & friends combined their efforts to make the day incredibly memorable and unique.
